Lazin' on a Sunday Afternoon....

It feels like summer time here today... the sun's out - it's stunning ~ It's hard to believe that it's been a week since I landed here - scared to death and thinking "oh... what have I gotten myself in to?" I've seen that same look on the faces of the new guests as they arrive. I'm sure that in a weeks time they will feel the same way as I do - It's the BEST choice I've ever made for myself!
(Other than my hubby and kidlin's of course).... The above picture is what I was looking at today while I was doing the laundry - and sitting at the pool... Yep - there's still snow on some of the mountain peaks around here --- but the sun felt like I was at the beach!

Today I had to say "goodbye" to some of the most wonderful folks I've ever met. I decided to get up with the chickens just to make sure I didn't miss them. My sweet friend Kay - who was heading back to Austin Texas... That girl just made me work my buns off. She pushed and inspired me in every workout. (We were in the same "red" grouping). She has a great Texan sense of humor and had me laughing through the pain!

It was also time to say goodbye to my friends Dr. J (Eric) and the Tooth Fairy (Rose) - They are from Seattle and he's a dentist. They are very wonderful people - Eric kept all of us entertained with his spirit of willingness to do and try anything. (Even singing karaoke for the guests last night)... Sweet Rose wasn't feeling very well for the first few days of this week - but she just pushed ahead giving it her all - and no one would know. I'm going to miss them - that's for sure! What a fun couple!

Then there's my sweet Buckeye'd Buddies from Ohio - Julie (The Family Jewels) and Celeste (Heavenly Body)... (Much better than Celestial Seasoning)... Anyway - These two put the "twinkle in the week" for many of us! Always positive - and just plain silly! They were really go getters... (I think that Jewels is probably a mega workout babe in Ohio because she had us panting after her... and Heavenly Body just made everything look so easy... Like she was "gliding" ...

It was a really great week. Lots and Lots of sore muscles --- we all sort of had a "oh my aching ..." shuffle going on for a few days. But as the kinks and soreness wore off - we all really managed to push ourselves even further than we imagined. It was a really great week - and I'm so looking forward to the opportunities the next 3 weeks will bring for even more improvement and that the possibility of "being able to do anything" will become a reality!...
I should be able to post more this week - as fatigue will probably not be the factor as it was last week. I was so tired after the evening lecture/class - that I just jumped into bed every night.
I will still be getting up at 5 for a 6 a.m. class before breakfast - then the hike, but now I'm in the "green" team - and my schedule will be slightly different (mostly it's the pool time that will change to the first "group class" to do the pool workout in the day). Some of the classes are much harder than others for me ~ but I still give it my all. Kickboxing was a blast! I did that twice last week. And I really enjoyed the Cardio/Circuit Classes as well... The hikes are the best though ~ as the scenery is amazing... and the solitude in the hike is good for my soul!... (and of course hard on the soles... ---- thus the patches!) ... ha-ha... My blisters are healing though - so no worries there...
Much Love to all of you... Hugs and Kisses to the kids and grandkids... (I love you... xxoo Oma)

  1. Dear Rachelle,
I emailed you this morning but wasn't sure if you were checking email. We miss you so much -we are the luckiest girls in the world to have spent a whole week with you! I got up this morning and felt somewhat out of place not having an activity to go to (ok -I did have work). Your day sounded splendid and probably a good feeling to have done laundry as I am doing now. I have baking in the oven right now the salmon burgers from our new cookbooks and two chocolate covered strawberries for Cami. I also joined a fitness center and worked out with my trainer on strength. I will be following you everyday and cheering you on!
Chuck and Cami have loved following your blog. Hopefully stop sign gets easier!
    Cel
