WOW... Today was great! Yesterday was a really huge challenge for me ~ hiking in the mountains wasn't so bad ~ a little loose rock for me --- I did an intermediate-"beginner" hike - called the Anastasie (sorry for the misspelling) Trail. It was really beautiful - and the petroglyphs were interesting - (I think) - because I was terrified most of the time going to look at them --- as the ledge was very rocky and there was a tiny trail - (or at least I thought so) of rocks and then drop off - However my dear dear friends on the hike - kept me alive - and from panicking too much. Holding my hand for stability - and calming my racing heart with their encouragement. I've got to say - that I really think that there are some of the most amazing people here that are sharing this experience with me - and each of us help one another make it through what can be very challenging moments - with such a sweet support. As tired and sore as I am I love it here!
Yesterday was probably so hard for me because I was so darned tired - and I just plain hurt all over.
This morning I woke up and felt like a different person... Oh - I was hobbling around alright --- but I had a spark of energy that was missing in the prior day. The day started with a 6 a.m. Yoga class - I felt very awkward and like I was really a sub-beginner ~ however I'm looking forward to the next time I have that class to see if I'm any more flexible or have any more balance or strength for it. After Breakfast I did a great little hike called the West Canyon Hike... Mostly Flat - but very beautiful scenery. And it was exactly what I needed to start the day off right. From there we had a stretching class which was awesome - and after lunch we had kickboxing - which was really fun - then on to Mountain class - which was very very challenging for me - and then ended the day in the pool. It was a very fun but exhausting class. I'm ready now to fall into bed... As It's already an hour past my bed time... I just thought I'd better post so you all didn't think I'd dropped off the face of the earth!
You'll never believe it but I've met the most wonderful women from OHIO... (YES - THEY ARE ALL BUCKEYES - the SAME ONES WHO BEAT US DUCKS UP SO BAD AT THE ROSEBOWL!)
and they're proud buckeyes --- but they are truly the nicest women in the world - and just being around them puts a smile in my heart! 2 are friends who own an investment company together (I call one The Family Jewels - her name is Julie and the other one is Celeste so she's named "Heavenly Body"... ha-ha... ~ and then there are 3 sisters (I call them "Wild and Scenic") after our Three Sisters Wilderness area. They are a real hoot! Unfortunately all of these gals will be leaving after only one week... I will miss them all. (Even if they are Ohio State Fans!)...
Well I'm beat... I'll try to post more if not tomorrow - then on Friday. xxoo r
